Day 3

Breakfast is ready from 06.00
We go to the airport. We fly to Cuzco.
We arrive at the beautiful capital of the Inca Empire. There we will be picked up by our local guide and tour operator. Because it takes time to de-acclimatize due to the altitude, we go directly to the Sacred Valley which is 2,800 meters above sea level. in contrast to Cusco, which is 3,400 m above sea level. That way, we get a smoother transition when we come from 100 m above sea level. in Lima.
Reception at the hotel lobby. We are welcomed with the famous coca tea. We relax and take the rest of the day off so we can de-acclimatize to the altitude here.

Only breakfast and box lunch that day.

We stay at a hotel in the Sacred Valley. 3 *

Day 4

We first start with a visit to the village of Ollantaytambo where we can walk around the streets that have stood exactly as they have since Inca times. After following in the footsteps of the Incas, we go on to visit the ruins that lie high in the mountains around the village. These are the ruins of a huge military fort from the Inca era. This is one of the few places where the Spanish lost a military battle against the Incas.
We eat a buffet lunch where we can taste the most typical Peruvian dishes.
After lunch we start in the direction of the wonderful Sacred Valley. We have a stop in Pisaq village where we have time to buy local handicrafts in the square market and enjoy the Indian atmosphere of this village.
From the village we then continue to visit the Pisaq ruins, some impressive ruins from the Inca era, which are actually bigger than Machu Picchu and played an important role in the great Inca Empire.

Half Board.

We stay at a hotel in the Holy Valley. 3 *

Day 5

Excursions to Moray and Chinchero
After breakfast we go to Moray, a nice bus trip where we drive through different villages and agricultural areas. Moray is located in the highlands from the Urubamba Valley. They are best known for their circular constructions in agriculture.
We have lunch in Chinchero.
Chinchero is a village of an Indian community where they mainly engage in agriculture and textile production. In Chinchero we will experience a typical village built on top of some Inca ruins. The complex architecture is reflected in the fascinating colonial church built on top of the Inca-era Sun Temple.

Half Board.

We stay at a hotel in the Sacred Valley. 3 *

Day 6

This day is special for everyone as we now begin our journey to Machu Picchu. We have 2 options:
1. Inka trail 2 days (at an additional fee, contact us for more info.)
2. Take the train directly to Aguas Calientes at Machu Picchu. (This is included in the price).

We will all be picked up early next morning to go to the legendary city of Machu Picchu, the forgotten Inca community on a mountain top high in the Andes. We take the train which takes approx. 2 hours to Aguas Calientes. For those of you who are going to walk the Inka trail, we start by getting off the train at “Kilometer 104” and begin the impressive journey on foot. On the way to Machu Picchu, we stop in Winayhuayna, some impressive ruins in the middle of a mountain peak.
We eat a packed lunch on the way, while enjoying the fantastic view. The trip will take approx. 6 hours to Machu Picchu, and when we arrive, we have time to enjoy the view of Machu Picchu.
Spectacular panorama. When we have finished admiring one of the wonders of the world, we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to regroup with the rest of the group.
The others who did not walk the Inka trail continue with the train to “Aguas Calientes”, where you will be met by our tour operator who will help us check in at the hotel. While you wait for the others, you can relax by taking a nice bath in the hot springs found there, or just have a relaxing day.
At16.00, those who have walked the Inca trail arrive at Aguas Calientes.
The rest of the evening is free.

Half Board.

We spend the night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes. 3 *

Day 7

Early in the morning we get up and take the bus up to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise.
We visit legendary Machu Picchu where our guide will guide us through the entire city. The old Inca city is known for its beautiful and impressive surroundings, which can take anyone’s breath away! The Spanish conquistadors never found Machu Picchu, and this is probably the most important reason why the city is an almost untouched monument from the Inca era.
We return to the village to eat a joint dinner buffet.
In the afternoon we travel back to Cuzco.

Only breakfast and lunch.

We are staying at a hotel in Cusco. 3 *

Day 8

Then we visit the Qorikancha temple in the middle of Cuzco, a sacred place for both the Incas and the Spanish. The Spanish built over it, in order to prove their power over the Indians. Day 10

Full pensjon.
