Pick up at the hotel.
Tour begins by visiting COLONIAL LIMA, where a historical route takes us to the most important and characteristic places of Old Lima, such as the Palace of Government, Municipality of Lima, the Basilica and the Cathedral, one of the oldest and most beautiful examples of Latin American architecture. The route continues by the Church of San Francisco allowing us to appreciate its Museum of Art, Convent and Catacombs.

Afterwards we continue to CONTEMPORARY LIMA, at Miraflores, Larco Mar where our lunch is waiting. You will be introduced to our delicious Peruvian cuisine. Our restaurant has a magnificent view over the ocean.

After lunch we visit tourist areas such as “El Parque del Amor”, (the love park) and admire a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

The tour concludes by visiting one of the most interesting museums of our city, the Anthropological Museum – where you can obtain a good idea of our pre-Hispanic culture.

In the evening, we invite you to participate in a traditional show where you can enjoy our Peruvian folklore. This is not included in the price.

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Arrival at the “Capital of Biodiversity of Peru”, Puerto Maldonado – reception at the airport. Our tour begins with a journey through the city in our bus.

Later at Capitania port we board the boat that will traverse the Rio Madre de Dios. During the trip we will submerge ourselves in a natural environment where we will observe the wild life.

Upon arrival at the Eco-Amazonia Lodge, we have an exquisite welcome drink, check-in to our bungalows, and have lunch.

In the afternoon, our specialized guide will take you through an interpretive trail, conveniently signposted, to Caiman Cocha, a little lagoon where you will have the chance to observe the black caiman and the common caiman. They feed on a rich water fauna—mainly represented by fish— that inhabits the pond.

At dusk, you will witness the spectacular sunset over the Amazon region, an experience full of colors in overwhelming ranges and intensities.

Back in the lodge, a delicious dinner will await you and you will have free time to share unforgettable moments at the bar, equipped with and excellent game room and all the drinks you can imagine.
The night fauna will lull you to sleep with the melody of a huge number of bird songs and calls.

After breakfast, we will start a hike to the deep forest on conveniently prepared, preserved and signposted trails. On the way, we will cross the riverside to reach high-elevation forests, and then we will descend to floodable forests, to go up again to the hills. During the journey, we will see the widest range of flora and fauna in the wild.

Along the way, we will see diverse species of medicinal plants and fruit trees supporting the animal and human populations in the Amazon forests. With luck and in silence, you can see a wide range of various mammal, birds and reptiles.

We’ll arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Victor surrounded by immense swamps and gigantic trees. Then, we’ll go up to an Amazonian observation deck, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view on the lake and observe rich wild life of the jungle.

Back in the lodge, a refreshing lunch will be waiting for you.

In the afternoon, joined with our specialized guide, we will visit the Monkey Island, few minutes away from the lodge in the center of Madre de Dios River. This island shows an enormous variety of exuberant flora and fauna.

Finally, we will complete our visit to the island, enjoying a sunset with the most impressive dusk in the jungle. Back in the lodge, you will taste an exquisite dinner.

Breakfast, followed by transfer to the airport of Puerto Maldonado, where we will board a flight to Cusco.

Reception in the city of the Cusco, transfer to the designated hotel where a herbal tea of the coca leaf will be served, to assist with the physical effects caused by the altitude of the city. We advise our clients to rest in order to acclimatize themselves to the altitude. You should take it easy the first two days and eat light meals, drink plenty of water and limit alcohol intake to avoid altitude sickness.

In the evening: Just relax and take it easy.

You will start with the city excursion tour, which includes a visit to the Seat of Arms (Plaza de Armas), the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha, a visit to two ruins that are around the city; The Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, Kenko.

After finishing the tour, we will head to Chinchero were our lunch will be waiting made by the local Indians, and we can assure you that it is delicious.

After lunch you will be introduced to the Chinchero community, where you will be able to appreciate the incredible weaving culture that has been inherited from our ancestors. Then you will visit the remains of the Inca ruins where the Spanish conquistadores raised a church in an attempt to eliminate the old Peruvian culture.

Back to the hotel late in the afternoon.

You will be picked up at your hotel.

The guided excursion begins to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, where you will visit the town of Pisac and also be able to visit the typical market of indigenous locals.

Lunch.
Afterwards we arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo which is one of the most prized jewels of Peru with its Incan architecture. You will not only visit the rest of the archeological sites in this place, but also appreciate the Andean world in its natural environment. On the way back, you will visit the local brewery to see how the locals make their own beer. You can have a taste if you like.

Finally returning to Urubamba to spend the night in the designated hotel.

Very early pick-up at the hotel in order to make our way to the train station together with the guide in time for departure. We take the train until arriving at Km. 104. Here we will find our porters, cooks, and equipment necessary for the excursion on the Inca Trail. We will arrive at the ruins of Winaywayna 5 hours after beginning the hike.

After lunch we will continue the adventure arriving at the IntiPunku entrance, where you will have one of the most beautiful views of Machu Picchu. We will continue by bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes, to rest at a hotel.

After a very early breakfast we will board the bus in order visit the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu in the early hours of the morning. After the visit we will return to the town in time to have lunch at a designated restaurant. In the afternoon we return to Cusco by train and when we arrive in Cusco we will be transferred to the designated hotel.

Today is free.
One option is to visit the Rainbow mountain. This is a mountain which due to the layers of various minerals produce a colorful scenery of this mountain. You first drive for 2 hours along a narrow road and then trek for 3 hours to get to the summit which lies at 5200 meters. Due to this altitude it can be very cold and windy and thus require good physical condition and proper multilayer clothing and trekking boots. You can also ride on a horse instead of walking.

After the hotel breakfast in the morning, there is transfer to the bus station where we leave with bus for Puno. During our journey we can appreciate the impressive nature and changing landscapes on the way to the plateau (Altiplano), having lunch along the way. We arrive at 5 p.m. and have the rest of the day free.

We begin our day with a delicious breakfast, followed by a boat ride to the floating islands of Uros and afterwards continue towards the island of Amantani, thus being able to appreciate and share unforgettable experiences with the natives of the island, who not only invite us into their homes, but also invite us into their culture and demonstrate to us their proud customs. Lodging is simple, but clean, a small price to pay for an unforgettable experience.

Stay the night at Amantani.

Early in the morning we say goodbye to our family and travel by boat back to Puno. From there we will go by bus to Juliaca and have a box lunch on the way. In Juliaca we will board a plane and fly back to Lima.

When we arrive back in Lima, the rest of the evening is free. If you wish our staff in Lima will be happy to help you with any activities and advise of what to do. One option which we recommend is to visit the bohemian district of Barranco with lots of picturesque restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a meal or a drink and the magnificent view over the Pacific ocean.

Optional, we can arrange a visit to another part of Lima, where you will visit a local school for disabled children which we have raised money to build two extra class rooms, and a ‘common kitchen’, an organization of women who provide healthy food for poor families.

Transfer to the airport, with best wishes for a safe travel back to your home country.
