This is one of the few places where the Spaniards lost a military battle against the Incas. On the way to lunch we stop at a local beer brewery to be explained the brewery process. Those who want it can have a little taste as an aperitif before lunch.

Day 18

The last day in Lima we have two options:
– Just take a day off.
– The other alternative is to visit what we call “communal kitchens”, a place where women from poor neighborhoods gather to cook dinner for their local community and sell each portion very cheaply. This measure has helped many poor people survive through the severe economic crises they are undergoing.

We also have the opportunity to visit a special school that we have supported for many years. We also get an insight into how a large proportion of Lima’s population live here, and also I, as a travel manager, can tell you about how it started and the development since.
